Caleb Mitchell Johnson

Caleb Mitchell Johnson, age 23, of Sanford, NC, went to be with the Lord, Friday, August 7, 2020.

He was born in Lee County, NC on October 15, 1996 to Edwin C. Johnson and Michelle Mitchell Johnson.  His grandfathers preceded him in death; Steven Ray Mitchell and Charles Edwin Johnson.   Caleb was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and a graduate of Lee County Senior High School and a recent graduate of Appalachian State University with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice. Caleb had a great love for his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Caleb is survived by his sister Cassidy Johnson of the home; paternal-grandmother Genelle Godfrey Johnson, maternal-grandmother Jackie Sharpe Tart and husband Larry all of Sanford; aunt Leigh Ann Byrd and husband Mike of Boone; uncle Dustin Mitchell and wife Lauren of Holly Springs; aunt Crystal Mitchell of Sanford; and cousins Blake Byrd, Brooke Byrd, Mylee Mitchell, Isabel Mitchell, Berkley Mitchell; and numerous great-aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

A viewing and visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 10:00 AM to Noon at Cool Springs Baptist Church.  The funeral service will begin at Noon with Pastor Matt Martin officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Please be respectful of the family and church and practice social distancing.   If you wish to visit with Caleb you are welcome to come by the funeral home Tuesday, August 11th from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
