Bruce Clay O’Quinn, age 66 of Sanford, NC, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his family.
Bruce was born in Lee County, on February 9, 1958 to the late Joseph “Joe” Lee O’Quinn and Annie Lou Spivey O’Quinn. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Lynwood Neal O’Quinn.
Bruce was a Past Master of Sanford Lodge #151. Bruce enjoyed his basketball teams, riding motorcycles down backroads, spending quality time with his friends and family. Cheering for his favorite sports teams (Go Heels!) He was an avid collector of antiques, whether that was cars, coins, stamps or anything that reminded him of history. His heart was in music theater & cinema. You could find him with a good book or eating good food. He made sure to always have a good joke to tell. He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Jessica Nicole Simpson, of Florida; Whitney Lynn Smith, of Sanford; Sister Jo Anne Westbury (Ed) of Fuquay Varina. Grandchildren, Delani and Savannah.
A graveside service will be held at Lee Memory 2600 Hawkins Ave. Sanford, NC 27330 at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
