Brenda Faye (Morton) Smith

Brenda Faye Morton Smith, age 70, of Sanford, NC, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday evening, Jan. 30, 2020.

She was born in Lee County, on April 27, 1949, to the late Joseph Paul Morton and Flora Jane Gilmore Morton.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son Barry Lee Boyer; brothers, Boyce Gray Morton and Ronald Paul Morton and a sister Annie Mae Morton Ward.  Mrs. Smith worked 38 years at Coty as a Line Leader.

Surviving relatives include her husband, Barry G. Smith of the home; her son, Darrell Boyer of Sanford; daughter, Alexis Faye Boyer of Sanford; grandsons Derrick Boyer of Sanford and Noah Boyer of Arkansas; great granddaughter Scarlett Marie Alday; step-son Matthew Smith (Dawn), step daughter Barra Smith Ray (James); step grandchildren (6); brother, Johnny Morton (Patricia); sisters, Gayle Paul (late JD Cliff) and Elizabeth Wester (Jimmy) and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Feb. 3, 2020, from 1 to 2PM, at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. A memorial service will take place following the visitation 2PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Dale Sauls presiding.  Burial will follow at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to FirstHealth Hospice House, 251 Campground Road, Pinehurst, NC  27374.
