Brenda Jane (Angney) Popke

Brenda Jane (Angney) Popke, 66, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home in Sanford, NC, on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, with her family by her side.

She was born October 26, 1955, in Lorain, Ohio to Allan and Betty (Hastings) Angney.

She has been a North Carolina resident for the past 26 years.

Brenda graduated from Vermilion High School in 1974.  She married Charles “Chuck” G. Popke III on November 16, 1974.

Brenda worked several years for The Hershey Company and took great pleasure in delivering chocolate.  She enjoyed bowling, spending time with friends, and spoiling her dogs.  She was a volunteer at Central Carolina Hospital’s gift shop.

She is survived by her husband, Chuck; three sons: Douglas A. (Sarah) Popke of Wilmington, NC; Steven C. (Emily) Popke of Sandusky, OH; and Jeffrey P. Popke of Sanford, NC; stepdaughter, Sherry A. Popke of Sandusky, OH; and four grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Brenda was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex Angney and Glenn Angney.

A private family service will be held at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home in Sanford, NC.  Online condolences may be shared at www.bridgescameronfuneralhome.com.  A memorial service to celebrate Brenda’s life will take place at a later date.
