Brenda (Appleton) Palmer

Brenda Appleton Palmer, age 82, of Sanford, NC, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026 at her daughter’s home.

She was born in Gibson County, Tennessee on April 27, 1943 to the late Vivian Earl Appleton and Clara Elvie Frazier Appleton.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Robert and Dean Appleton. 

Brenda worked as a sales representative for Eastern Décor before her retirement and enjoyed playing board games, crossword puzzles and crocheting.  She also loved reading a good book.  Brenda was a longtime member of Bethany Baptist Church in Gulf, NC.

She is survived by her children Mike Palmer and wife Kim of Bear Creek; Lisa Strickland and husband Lee of Sanford and grandchildren Lucas Palmer and Samantha Strickland.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bethany Baptist Church in Gulf, NC on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Patrick Daniel officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall with light refreshments to be served.
