Brenda Faye Bouldin Smith, age 72, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born in Lee County on December 13, 1952 to the late Elmer Richard Bouldin and Dorothy Lee Boyd Bouldin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters Debbie Tipton, Cindy Bouldin and grandson Joseph Elhage.
Brenda is survived by her husband Phillip Lamar Smith; children Kimberly Bouldin Dove (Derick), Phillip Lamar Smith, Jr. (Kelly), Richard Smith (Gayle), Shannon Lee Ann Oglesbee (Mike); sister Robin Tillman; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Brenda worked many years for Kourey Company, Americap and Cascade Fibers. What she loved most was being a wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her family and was the best cook. She was a talented crochetier and won many awards at the Lee County Fair and Moore County Fair with her beautiful crocheted blankets. Brenda also enjoyed diamond painting. Brenda attended and faithfully served, over 30 years, in the nursery at Central Baptist Temple.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 23, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home and other times at the family home. The funeral service will be Monday, November 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Central Baptist Temple with Pastor Mike Oldham and Pastor Ricky Chapel officiating. Burial will follow at Rocky Fork Christian Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or March of Dimes, which were her two favorite charities to donate. The family wants to thank the loving caregivers with Amedisys Home Health & Hospice, Central Carolina Hospital and Cape Fear Valley Hospital.
