Bobby Camp Gunter, age 89, of Sanford, passed away on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at FirstHealth Hospice Home, West End, NC.

He was born in Chatham County on January 7, 1937 to the late Floyd Gunter and Helen Williams Gunter. In addition to his parents, He was preceded in death by his son Robin Gunter, sister Betty Sue Gunter Holder.

Bobby retired with the Honeywell Corporation maintenance department. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheered faithfully for the UNC Tar Heels. Above all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather whose kindness, love, and unwavering dedication to his family will be remembered always. He will be greatly missed and forever cherished.

Those remaining to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years Peggy Gunter of Sanford; daughter Becky (Jay) of Cameron; Sister Joyce Badders of Asbury; granddaughter Amanda Ertle (Jason) of Sanford; great-grandchildren Blane, Delaney.

Bobby’s wishes were that no services to be held at this time.
