Betty Lou (Carter) Carter

Betty Lou Carter Carter, age 79, of Sanford, NC, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Rockingham County on July 15, 1941 to the late Herman Lee Carter and Evelyn Southern Carter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Anne Carter; brothers, Buddy Rogers Carter and Herman L. Carter, Jr. and sister, Frances Kelly Brown.  Betty was retired from Central Carolina Community College.  She was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with her family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Arnold Lynn Carter, Sr., son, Arnold Lynn Carter, Jr. of Sanford; daughter, Sherry Carter of Sanford; sister, Hazel Bullard of Sanford; grandson, Josh Hurley and wife, Michelle and great-grandchildren, Zoey Jackson, Eric Jackson and Mackenzie Hurley.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Joel Murr officiating.
