Betty McIntyre Baker, age 81, of Sanford, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 25, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 7, 1945 to the late Warden McIntyre and Rosa Sheffield McIntyre. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by siblings Jackie McIntyre, Jean Sweat. Mary Lemons and Carolyn Godfrey. Alongside her husband, Betty faithfully worked for many years in the family business, Baker Body Shop. She was known for her warm heart, generous nature, and the happiness she found in simple pleasures—especially a good game of BINGO she shared with friends. She was a devoted member of Sanford Free Will Holiness Church and she found great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving others.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carlton Baker; son Lynn Baker (Lillian) of Delaware; grandchildren Sharon Ramierz, Danielle McNeill (Jimanda), Zane McNeill (Jessica) and Alexis Blakley (Randall); great-grandchildren Macy McNeill, Jimanda Gibbs, Maise Jo Gilbert, Mackenzie Cameron and Alexus Dawn Gray; great-great-grandchild “new” Baby Blakley and sisters Henrietta Dennis (Clyde) and Faye Boyd, both of Mamers.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, May 29, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Pearl Castleberry officiating.
