Barry Stephen Abercrombie, Jr.

Barry Stephen Abercrombie, Jr. “Steve”, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at his home.

He was born in Greenville, South Carolina to the  late Barry Stephen Abercrombie and Shirley Barton Hinton.  Steve worked many years as a security guard.  Steve left behind a life remembered for its simple joys, deep interests, and unmistakable passions. He found great comfort in familiar things—especially watching The Andy Griffith Show, which never failed to make him smile, and immersing himself in historical documentaries that reflected his curiosity about the past and how it shaped the world. He also loved going to the beach. Above all, his greatest love other than his wife, Crystal was Elvis Presley. Elvis’s music, movies, and legacy brought him endless joy, and he proudly shared that admiration with anyone who would listen. That love was a defining part of who he was and remains a cherished memory for those who knew him.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Crystal Gillis Abercrombie and his beloved dog, Annie.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 11, 2026 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the home of Pam Gillis.
