Barbara Faye (Brown) Watson

Barbara Faye Brown Watson, age 83, of Sanford, passed away with her sister by her side at Raleigh Wake Medical Hospital after a brief illness.

Barbara was born in Portsmouth, VA, but grew up in Sanford, NC, where she spent her life in the community she loved.  She attended Sanford Business College and worked for the Lee County Tax Administration until her retirement. 

She was the daughter of the late Lewis Monroe Brown and Faye Cowing Brown.  In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Ray Watson, and her husband, Bruce Elliott Watson.

She is survived by her sister, Martha Jean Brown of Pittsboro, NC. 

Barbara’s life was marked by her connections to family, friends, and neighbors.  She will be remembered by those who knew her at a funeral service on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.
