Barbara Ann (Parrish) Kelley

Barbara Ann Parrish Kelley, age 77, of Sanford, NC, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at UNC Hospitals.

She was born in Lee County, NC on December 23, 1944 to the late Elijah Raymond Parrish and Mary Ann Stone Parrish.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Paul Kelley; brothers Robert and Buddy Parrish and a grandson Matthew Thomas McGee. Barbara was an active member of Hunt Springs Baptist Church where she served in many capacities including; choir member, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School leader and the sew ministry.  She was gifted at sewing, crafts, cake decorating and tending her flower garden.  Barbara could make anything she set her mind to and had a gift for making people feel special and loved.  In addition to her church ministry, she worked 30 plus years for Coty as a laboratory technician.  Barbara will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her children Connie Kelley James and husband Curtis of Clemmons, NC, Richard Paul Kelley and wife Jean of Kernersville, NC; sisters Doris Kelly, Kat Douglas and husband Thomas and Janice Hart all of Sanford.  She is also survived by grandchildren Noah Curtis, Salem Curtis and Jacob James.

The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM with the funeral service following at 11:00 at Hunt Springs Baptist Church with Pastor Wesley Thomas officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo Cemetery.
