Alberta Jeannette (Fore) Carter

Alberta Jeannette Fore Carter, age 88, of Sanford, NC, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024 at her home, with her family by her side.

She was born in Lee County, NC on June 16, 1936 to the late James Roden Fore and Mary Lee Bunnell Fore.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Paul Richard Carter; second husband John Kellam; grandson Jonathan Kellam; sons-in-law Michael Rosser, Roger Lemons; and siblings Mary Sue Hoadwonic, James Fore “Toodlum”, Viola Bowlin and Maggie Smith.

Jeannette was an active member of Ephesus Baptist Church and was a founder and charter member of Hillview Christian Assembly. She loved music and even wrote several gospel songs.  She sang in the church choir and a ladies trio group for many years.  Because Jeannette was so loving and kind, she helped take care of many people as a CNA and caregiver with Keller’s Retirement Home.  Her love and laughter will be  missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by children Paulette Carter Worrell (Glenn) of Sanford, Karen Carter Lemons (Harvey Howard) of Broadway, Rodney Paul Carter (Diane Lawrence Carter) of Sanford, Sandra Carter Rosser of Sanford, Mary Carter Yow (Greg) of Sanford, Steven Grant Carter of Sanford; brother Joe Fore of Liberty, SC; grandchildren Glenn Worrell (Kristina), Nicholas Worrell (Amanda), Richard Kellam (Odena), Stacy Carter Phillips (Jeff), Israel Carter, Kelley Fore, Jenna Yow Carter (Kevin), Cameron Yow (Heidi), Katlyn Carter Ridenhour (Dylan), Dawsynn Davidson, Katie Rosser Whitson (Jeff), Amanda Poole and Heather Reed; Numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and extended family.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral home on  Wednesday, October 23, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and other times at the home of Sandra Rosser, 130 Beaver Lake Road, Sanford, NC 27332.  The funeral service will be held at Ephesus Baptist Church  Thursday, October 24th at 11:00 AM  with Rev. Sandra Jones officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
