Addie Marie Gladden, age 82, passed away on May 10, 2022, surrounded by loved ones.
She was the daughter of the late Haywood Gibson Cooke and Jennie Lee Cooke.
She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Lee Phillips; husbands, Billy Thurn Gladden, Sr. and Carey Barrentine; one brother, Robert Dexter Cooke and sister, Doris Jean Oglesbee.
She is survived by her son, Roger Wayne Phillips, Jr. and daughter, Rose Phillips Fenton, both of Sanford; granddaughters, Dana Phillips Wallace of Cameron and Tiffany Evans of Southern Pines; grandsons, Christopher Eric Phillips of Lemon Springs, Kenneth Wayne Phillips and Brandon Wayne Key, both of Sanford; five great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, many special friends and sister-in-law, Jean Cooke.
She loved visiting the sick, cooking for all the family each week and making beautiful flower arrangements for the home and family members.
She was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church since 1955, attending regularly until her health declined. She retired from Four Seasons Apparel where she worked as a sewing machine operator for many years.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Family and friends may come by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Friday, May 13, 2022, from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM to pay their respects and sign the guest register.
