William Clark Rinaman, Jr., 76, passed away on Saturday, August 10th, 2019 in his home under hospice care.
Born in Palo Alto, California, he was the son of the late William and Katherine (Mitchell) Rinaman. Bill graduated from UC Berkeley under the ROTC program and received a degree in electrical engineering. He spent five years in the Navy as a ship’s engineer leaving the service with the rank of lieutenant. He spent 6 years as an analyst for the CIA, completed his working life as a professor of statistics at Lemoyne University. His wish was that he would be able to retire to Pinehurst. He got his wish and moved here after retiring from Lemoyne. He started as a golf player but quickly decided croquet was really his thing. He was a constant presence on the croquet court at Pinehurst and won a championship medal in 2017. He played in his last tournament just 2 weeks before he passed away.
Bill was predeceased by his sister Karen. Bill is survived by his beautiful wife Ann; sister Terry (Peter); nephews Mark and David; niece Monica; three chihuahuas Rambo, Rocky and Rusty and his faithful cat Ginger.
Bill’s memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinehurst with Father John Forbes officiating. In lieu of flowers those who wish may send donations to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society
