William Boyd Gaddy Jr., age 69, of Olivia, NC, died Monday, May 6, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Waynesville, NC on July 10, 1949 to the late Boyd William Gaddy and Vina Lee Palmer Gaddy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Jerry O’Neill Gaddy; daughter Crystal Kay Gaddy and sister Aline Hampton.

Mr. Gaddy worked many years for Accuride in the tool & die trade and was the Assistant Fire Chief for the Benhaven Fire Department for several years. He volunteered his time at Western Harnett High School JROTC in addition to being a jack-of-all-trades. He was a member of Olivia Presbyterian Church and treated everyone like family.

He is survived by his wife, of 47 years, Kay Marshburn Gaddy; sons William Lloyd Gaddy and wife Julie of Charlotte, David Paul Gaddy and wife Emily of Burlington; sister Beatrice Hoglen and husband Donnie of Waynesville, NC and grandchildren Mackenzie, Jackson, Micah and Judah.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, May 10th at 2:00 PM at Olivia Presbyterian Church with Rev. Robert Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
