Thomas "Tommy" Howard Weeks

Thomas Howard “Tommy” Weeks, age 78, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, September 29, 2019 at UNC Hospitals.

He was born in Burlington, NC on August 20, 1941 to the late Howard Tommie Weeks and Sally Inez Thornton Weeks.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson Brad Weeks and son-in-law Scott Huffman.  Tommy served our country in the United States Army and was sent to the Dominican Republic during a conflict in that country.  He loved traveling the country and was a long-haul truck driver while also owning and operating Weeks Sand and Gravel Company.  He and his wife Faye loved looking at the scenery on their many travels.  Tommy especially loved the North Carolina and Virginia mountains and seeing the beauty of the changing leaves.

He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Faye Williams Weeks; children Joey Weeks and wife Angela, Kim Weeks Love and husband Jim, Lorrie Weeks Huffman, Beth Weeks Lees and husband Jeff and Ryan Weeks and Robin all of Sanford; sister Linda Weeks Forrest and husband Bill of Greenville, SC; grandchildren Trey Love, Brandon Huffman, Rebecca Love Pedley, Meredith Love, Megan Smith, Taylor Huffman, Joshua Smith, Lillie Weeks, Karsten Weeks, Julie Ann Weeks, Jerry Alan Lees, Kelli Lees Coffer, Julian Banguera and great-grandchildren River Smith, Karleigh Lees and Declan Lees.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Asbury United Methodist Church, 805 Asbury Church Rd., Sanford, NC 27330, with Rev. Donald Burns officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service and at other times at the home of Ryan Weeks, 1503 Stoneridge Road, Sanford, NC 27330.
