Shirley Lamm Freshour, 73, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. She peacefully passed away at her home in Huntington Beach, California surrounded by her family.
Shirley was born in Sanford, North Carolina on October 31, 1944, the only daughter of Mary Dycus Campbell and Dwight Connor Lamm. She was the widow of the late Raymond Dean Freshour.
She was a graduate of Greenwood High School, Sanford in 1962. She received a diploma from Sanford Business College in 1963 and later received her certificate as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in 1987. Music was an integral part of her life and she touched many with her original songs and musical performances, both vocal and piano. Shirley was a beautiful beautiful Christian woman whose faith impacted her family.
Surviving are two daughters, Sheila M. Joiner and Meredith D. Harsh; one son, Jonathan D. Derby; and three granddaughters, Denise C. Rock, Delayne C. Rock, and Diya T. Derby.
The Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday, April 25th at 11am at Center United Methodist Church by Rev. Jarrod Davis in conjunction with Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services at 10am.
