Samuel Thomas Jones, age 28, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017, at his home.

Sam was born in Wake County on March 15, 1989, to Ronnie Jones and Sarah Nicholson Jones.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Hugh and Joyce Nicholson and his paternal grandfather, Samuel Lynn Jones.  Sam was a longtime member of Jonesboro Presbyterian Church.  He was a graduate of UNC Greensboro, a proud Eagle Scout, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.  Sam was employed as a Cardholder Services Technician at the State Employees’ Credit Union.

Sam is survived by his wife, Amanda Hicks Jones; his parents, Ronnie and Sarah Jones of Sanford and his paternal grandmother, Aileen White Jones of Sanford.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Jonesboro Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Taylor officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall and at other times at 906 Pendergrass Road, Sanford, NC.
