S.V. Johnson

S.V. Johnson, age 85, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, June 24, 2018 at his home.

He was born in Davidson County, NC on August 10, 1932 to the late Sylvester Johnson and Mattie League Henderson Johnson.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Nelson Johnson.  S.V. served our country in the United States Air Force and was an active member of Jonesboro Height Baptist Church where he sang in the adult choir.  He owned and operated Todd’s Tire Service for 48 years and in years-past volunteered his time with Meals-On-Wheels and Highway to Healing.

He is survived by two daughters Karen Johnson Hunter and husband Ronnie of Broadway, Pat Johnson of Charlotte and special niece Jo Lynn Welda of Sanford.

A graveside service will be held at Carolina Memorial Park, 601 Mt. Olivet Rd., Concord, NC 28025 (off Hwy. 29/S. Cannon Blvd.), Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM with Dr. Calvin Sayles officiating.

A memorial service be held at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church Thursday, June 28th at 4:00 PM with Dr. Calvin Sayles and Rev. Gilbert McDowell officiating.  The family will receive friends in the McDowell Fellowship Hall following the memorial service.
