(Ruth, but DO NOT call her that, lest she severely reprimand you!) Carol Calcutt, of Sanford, died Monday September 25th from end stage lung disease. She was surrounded with love from her daughter, 2 nieces and a lifelong friend.
She is preceded in death by her father, Jessie Calcutt, mother Ruth Calcutt, brother Norman Calcutt, sisters-in law Shelby and Lois Calcutt and precious daughter Denise Carol Calcutt.
She is survived by her brother Ted Calcutt of Sanford; her daughter and son-in law Pamela & Rod Simmons of Holly Springs, granddaughter Sierra Davis of Durham, granddaughter Holly Caroline Simmons and grandson Jack Simmons of Holly Springs.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, giving, support and witnessing for the Lord, to which every person should aspire. In lieu of flowers she (with her family's blessing) has requested that you please make a donation to Jonesboro Height Baptist Church in her name to be used for a scholarship for a deserving child. If you would like to bring one red rose in her memory, there will be a vase provided to collect those at the visitation on Thursday September 28th from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges and Cameron. A service will be held in her honor at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church Friday at 3:00. I, her daughter, would like to send a special Thank You to Mom's Sunday school class for their tremendous amount of love and support for us during this incredibly difficult time. You are Angels on Earth.
