Roy Gaston Rogers

Roy Gaston Rogers, age 70, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at his home with his family by his side.

Roy was born in Lee County on February 9, 1948 to the late John Calvin Rogers and Alma Alice Powers Rogers.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters.  Roy was a long-time member of Sanford Free Will Holiness Church and was a faithful worker.

He is survived by his wife, Rainey Calcutt Rogers; two sons, Nathaniel Rogers and Matthew Rogers both of Sanford, NC; two daughters, Tammy Rogers and special friend, Sheila of Wilmington, NC, Carol Dew and husband, Chris of Sanford; two brothers, Marvin Rogers and wife, Carol of Florida, Johnnie Rogers and wife, Betty of Winston-Salem, NC; three sisters, Bertha Hicks, Margaret McBryde, Pearl Castleberry and husband, Carl all of Sanford, NC; three grandchildren, Christin, Codey and Camden; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 1, 2018 from 1:30 PM until the funeral hour of 3:00 PM at Sanford Free Will Holiness Church and at other times at the family home.  The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM at Sanford Free Will Holiness Church with Pastor Tillman Hinson and Sherrie Hicks officiating.  Burial will be in Buffalo Cemetery.
