Robert "Mongoose" Crutchfield Obituary

Robert Wayne “Mongoose” Crutchfield, age 63, of Sanford, NC, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the First Health Hospice House in Pinehurst.

He was born in Lee County, NC on September 19, 1954 to the late Robert Clarence Crutchfield and Mary Muse Crutchfield. Mongoose worked 13 years with Sanford Finishing and was a sports enthusiast. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes.

He is survived by his wife Sallie Williams Crutchfield; daughters Shannon E. Cullen and husband James, Catherine Crutchfield and partner Greg Randolph; sister Linda Ray; grandchildren Cheyanne Eaton and Savannah Randolph all of Sanford.

The family will receive friends Friday, February 16, 2018 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with the funeral following at 3:00 PM in the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Henry Funkhouser officiating. Burial will follow at Jones Chapel Church cemetery. The family will also be receiving friends at the home of his daughter and son-in-law Shannon and James, 51 Sweet Bayberry Court, Sanford, NC 27332.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
