Robert (Bobby) Lee Harrison

On April 19, 2018, at 10:45 AM Robert Lee Harrison was greeted into God’s Kingdom with smiles as the words were said to him, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Bobby, as he was called, was born in Lee County on August 9, 1935 to Wilfred Lee Harrison and Ethel Gaines Harrison.  He was preceded in death by daughter, Deborah Harrison Morrison; son-in-law, Ronald "Buddy" Kevin Morrison; brothers, Hayden Harrison, Larry Harrison; sister, Patricia Neal; father, Wilfred Harrison; mother, Ethel Gaines Harrison and godchild, Megan McNeill.

Being the oldest of thirteen siblings, there was always chaos, fun and lots of love.  Bobby and Barbara Pulliam Harrison were married on September 18, 1958.  They had two sons and a daughter, eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  Bobby’s life was filled with devotion to his family.

After finishing Business College, he worked for forty years in the automobile business in finances – 20 years for Welford Harris and 20 years for Wilkinson Cadillac Oldsmobile.

Bobby was a faithful member of Edgewood Presbyterian Church for many years, being an elder, deacon, participating in the choir and cooking for church fellowships.  Working for the Lord with his church family was a divine part of his life.  He never knew a stranger and was always ready to help someone.  He was a most wonderful husband for almost 60 years, Dad, Grandpa, brother and friend.

Surviving relatives include wife, Barbara; sons, Charles Robert Harrison (Paula) and Gary Christopher Harrison (Jennifer); eight grandchildren, Drew Anne and Katie Morrison, Kyndle, Kanten, Kayla, Kacie, Kolby and LeAnn; one great-child, Kylie Murchison; two godchildren, Sarah Jordan,  Brent McNeill; sisters, Joyce Black, Lynda Carr (Doug), Nancy Curtis (Hollis), Joann Cole (Don), Gwyn Sandlin (Jim), Carol Cockman; brothers, Ralph, Eugene (Lillian) and Rick (Sherry).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held on Sunday, April 22, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Edgewood Presbyterian Church with Dr. William “Bill” Hayes and Jody McNeill officiating.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
