Robert Merle Collins, age 73, of Cameron, NC, died Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Central Carolina Hospital.
He was born in Maryland on February 11, 1945 to the late Robert Glenn Collins and Callie Sheets Collins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Kennedy Collins and a son, John Robert Collins. Bob enjoyed farming including dairy, agriculture and chickens. He was a licensed auctioneer for many years. He loved his many dogs and his special cat, Frosty. Bob also looked forward to his many visits from his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will surely be missed.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Chris Collins and his wife, Wendy of Sanford, Eddie Collins and his wife, Tammy of Bear Creek; two daughters, Lorianne Fields of Cameron and Tammy Massey and her husband, Jimmy of Wendell; grandchildren, Crystal Johnson, Jason Woody, Kevin Woody, Christopher Drzewicki-Collins, Tina Cardona, Wendy Crawford, Travis Woody, Justin Woody, Lane Collins, Colton Collins, Cheyenne Collins, Michael Collins and Ashley Collins. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Pastor Carl Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
