The Rev. Larry Preston Bostian, 67, received his heavenly reward Friday, March 16, 2018, in Huntersville, North Carolina. He loved God, his family, and the churches where he served throughout his life.
Larry was raised in the Southern Baptist faith in his hometown of Bramwell, West Virginia. He was born August 11, 1950, the son of the late Floyd Preston Bostian and June Mills Bostian. He was preceded in death by his sister, Judith Gail Bostian; and his brother, Floyd Randall Bostian.
In 1968, Larry graduated from Bramwell High School and earned his Bachelor of Science in Speech Pathology in 1972 from Marshall University.
Rev. Bostian was a servant of the Lord. His calling to the ministry led him to Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received a Master of Divinity degree in 1997.
His adult life was spent faithfully serving the Lord with a number of churches: Mt Moriah Baptist Church in Durham N.C.; Atlantic Baptist Church in Atlantic, N.C.; Tramway Baptist Church in Sanford, N.C.; Unity Baptist Church in Gastonia, N.C.; Rosewood Baptist Church in Goldsboro, N.C.; and Red Oak Baptist Church in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Donna Riggs Bostian; two sons and their wives, Michael P. (Olivia) Bostian of Cary, N.C.; and Derek R. (Leigh Ann) Bostian of Huntersville, N.C.; two grandchildren, Abigail and Jacob; an aunt, Hazel M. Kinser of Mechanicsville, V.A.; and several cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 23, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Tramway Baptist Church in Sanford, N.C. A celebration of life will follow at 11 a.m. A private graveside service will be held Saturday in Morehead City, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Larry’s honor to the Tramway Baptist Church Building Fund, 2401 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Sanford, N.C. 27332.
