Quinn Stewart Weathington

May 30, 2003 ~ November 26, 2017 (age 14) 14 Years Old

Quinn Stewart Weathington, age 14, of the Deep River Community, Sanford, NC, died Sunday, November 26, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.

He was born to John Daren Weathington and Rhonda Jon Quinn Weathington on May 30, 2003.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, “Grumpy”, John Wayne Quinn.  Quinn attended New Hope Baptist Church and he enjoyed spending time with his dog, Skye, and playing baseball and Xbox. Quinn started his baseball career on the fields of Northview. He played all the way through middle school and played summer and fall ball for the “Sanford Spinners.” He attended Deep River Elementary School, East Lee Middle School and was a 9th grader at Lee Senior High School.  He was looking forward to taking Driver’s Education and driving a big pickup truck. Quinn was always such a fun spirit who made everyone laugh that he came in contact with. He could instantly light up a room.  You could always catch him laughing at inside jokes with his sister, or making the baseball team crack up.

In addition to his parents Daren and Rhonda, Quinn is survived by his sister Jonna Renee Weathington of Sanford; grandparents, “Papa and Mimi”, JD and Linda Stewart Weathington of Sanford and, “Grammy”, Joyce Ruppe Quinn of Fort Mill, South Carolina; aunts and uncles Malissa “Missy” Weathington Riggins and husband Chris of Sanford, Renee Quinn Perez and husband Edmundo of Fort Mill; and cousins Hunter, Dawson and Haley Riggins, Colby Perez and Jordan Lawing.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 4:00 PM at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Bouldin officiating.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.  A private burial will be held at Lemon Springs United Methodist Church cemetery prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers please make donations in Quinn’s memory to Carolina Animal Rescue & Adoption “CARA”, PO Box 2642, Sanford, NC 27331-2642.
