Phyllis (Overcash) Isenhour

Phyllis Overcash Isenhour, age 82, of Sanford, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2019 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born in Rowan County on June 13, 1937 to the late Phillip Overcash and Jessie Wilson Overcash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce.  Phyllis worked many years as a social worker. After enjoying a few years of retirement, she made the decision to go back to school at age 70 to obtain her Certified Nursing Assistant certification at Central Carolina Community College. She loved trips to the beach, fishing and working in her garden.  The time spent with her grandchildren was extra special to Phyllis.

Phyllis is survived by Howard Isenhour; her sons, Mike Isenhour and wife, Julma of Sanford, Chris Isenhour and wife, Susie of Sanford, Mark Isenhour and wife, Annette of Sanford; two sisters, Patsy Anderson of Kannapolis and Jane Hilton of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Phillip Isenhour, Michaela Isenhour, Brandon Isenhour and wife, Mindy, Brooke Love and husband, Bryce, Dustin Isenhour and wife, Tori; one great-grandchild, Weston Love.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Crossroads Ministries in Broadway with Pastor Paul Backlund officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.
