Peggy Jean (Stewart) Wester

Peggy Jean Stewart Wester, age 70, of Broadway, NC, died Thursday, April 12, 2018, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.

Mrs. Wester was born on July 22,1947, in Lee County to the late John Stewart and Vernell Wilson Stewart.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Whalen Wester; a grandson, Zachary Womack; a sister, Debra Norris.

Peggy is survived by her son, Bobby Strickland and wife Carlene of Whiteville, N.C.; five daughters, Connie Willis of Broadway, N.C., Vickie Reynolds and husband, Randy of Colorado, Tammy Bastress and husband, Rodney of Broadway, N.C., Shelia Wester of the home, and Angela Thomas and companion, James Pate of Sanford, N.C.; one sister, Linda Scott of Broadway and eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Lee Memory Gardens with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.
