Peggy Jean (Womack) Gaines

Peggy Jean Womack Gaines, age 65, of Carthage, NC, died Monday, October 15, 2018 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital.

She was born in Harnett County on February 8, 1953 to Dorothy Caldwell Mason and the late Gilbert Clyde Womack.  In addition to her father, Peggy was preceded in death by a brother, Delbert Womack and two grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Hubert Gaines of Pinehurst; mother, Dorothy Mason of Broadway; two daughters, Erica Ammons of Fernley, Nevada and Cindy Burton of Moncure; step-daughters, Renee Binkley, Michelle Bolton and Deanna Zagada;  two brothers, William Womack of Broadway and Thomas Womack of Broadway; one sister, Nancy Rochelle of Broadway; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Antioch Baptist Church in Goldston, NC with Rev. Keith Miller officiating.
