Ollie Smith Cox, 99, of Sanford, went home to her Lord on Thursday, June 22nd.

Visitation will be held at the Miller - Boles Funeral Home, 1150 Fire Tower Rd. Sanford, Sunday from

1:00 - 3:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home starting at 3:00 P.M.

Born in Deep River on September 16, 2017 she was the daughter of the late Marvin E. and Otis Womble

Smith. Ollie was a life - long resident of Lee county and a longtime member of the Congregational

Christian Church.

Ollie was the wife of the late Atlas Cox for 68 years. She was the mother of Gene A. Cox, wife Martha

of Greensboro, Jospeh L. “Joey” Cox of Sanford, Janet McKay, husband Lonnie, and the late Joyce

Hambright. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 18 great - grandchildren and 13 great - great -

grandchildren. Ollie is preceded in death by her 8 brothers and sister.

Donations in Ollie’s memory should be made to a charity of one’s choice.
