Norman W Brickhouse, age 84, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Elizabeth City, NC on June 4, 1932 to the late Emmett Brickhouse and Gertie Scott Brickhouse.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Clara Mae Brickhouse, Gladys Brumback, Audrey Nash, Virginia White; and brothers Miles Brickhouse and Harold Brickhouse.  Mr. Brickhouse was a popular self-employed caterer and member of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church.  He served our country in the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife JoAnn Burgess Brickhouse; son Dudley Brickhouse and wife Tina of Hilton Head, SC; brother Leon Brickhouse and wife Kathleen of Elizabeth City; and three grandchildren Bryan, Jenna and Brad Brickhouse.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the McDowell Fellowship Hall of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church with the funeral service following at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the church with Dr. Calvin Sayles and Rev. Gilbert McDowell officiating.  Burial will follow at Buffalo cemetery.
