Mary Elizabeth (McKay) Taylor Baker

Mary Elizabeth McKay Taylor Baker, age 84, of Cameron, NC, died Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Harnett County, NC to the late Archie McKay and Betty Eury McKay.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands; Lyston Taylor and Charles Baker; son Marvin Taylor and grandson Scott Knight. Mrs. Baker worked for Eaton Corporation and was a founding member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church.  She was more than a member. Mrs. Baker helped to build the church from the ground up serving in almost every role of the church including organist, Sunday School Teacher, and Treasurer to name a few.

She is survived by son Marshall Taylor and wife Joan of Sanford; daughters Patricia Knight and husband Mike of Alaska, Debra Taylor of Cameron, Emma Taylor and husband Charlie Smith of Spring Lake, Tammy Taylor of Raleigh and Melissa Hawkins and husband Tim of Lillington; two step-daughters Gail Carter and husband David of Cameron, Tammy Milks and husband Steve of Virginia; one step-son Mark Baker of Virginia; 19 grandchildren; five step-grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 8th at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 246 Flynn McPherson Rd., Cameron, NC 28326, with Rev. George Brice officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Immediately following the services on Wednesday, the family will be receiving friends at the Johnsonville Ruritan Community Building.
