Mary Agnes Bryant Rosser, age 94, of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Central Carolina Hospital.

She was born in Lasker, NC, a small town in Northampton County on November 28, 1922 to the late Walter Bryant and Fannie Warren Bryant. She completed high school at the age of 15 and went on to Meredith College and graduated at the age of 19 with a degree in music education.  Barely older than some of her students, she taught in Sanford, NC both general elementary school and sometimes just music, her passion, and traveled from school to school.  She also directed the choir at Jonesboro United Methodist Church for more than 50 years. She was married to A. Paul Rosser and had four children and one granddaughter and eight grandsons.  Daily she would comment that she had the best children and grandchildren in the world. Every child and grandchild were told they were “her favorite”.  She always wanted to be a part of the activity and around her family.  She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, A. Paul Rosser; a son, Don Rosser and her brother, Rudolph Bryant. 

Mary is survived by her son, John Rosser and his wife, Carol of Raleigh; two daughters, Jane Rosser Soule and husband, LeRoy of Sanford and Marty Rosser Sapp and husband, Darrell of Sanford; nine grandchildren, Sarah Rosser Hall and husband, Justin, Paul Rosser, Bryant Sapp, Jack Sapp, Christopher Soule, Michael Soule, Ross Sapp, Tyler Soule and Paul Sapp.

The family will receive friends in the sanctuary at Jonesboro United Methodist Church on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Jonesboro United Methodist Church at 11:00 AM with Rev. Woody Wells and Rev. Andi Woodhouse officiating.  Burial will follow in Jonesboro Cemetery.
