Mary Margaret Mimms, age 85, of Broadway, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Central Harnett Hospital.

Mary was born in Harnett County on January 14, 1932 to the late Sion Harrington Mimms and Pearl Sloan Mimms.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three brothers, James, Billy and Dan Mimms and by one sister, Ruth Smith.  She worked at Eaton Corporation for many years. In her later years, she enjoyed her job greeting people at Walmart.   Mary was a longtime member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Cook of Broadway; two sisters, Fannie M. Stewart of Wilmington and Martha M. Maddox and her husband, Albert of Sanford; three grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Brad Cook and wife, Mary, Tiffany Cook and Brittany Terry and husband, Brad.  She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Yow officiating.
