It is with great sadness that the family of Marlene L. Shappy announces her passing after a brief illness on Friday, January 4, 2019, at the age of 71 years at Central Carolina Hospital in Sanford, NC.

Marlene was the daughter of the late Jack and Eileen (Yount) Stemp, will be lovingly remembered by her brothers and sisters, Jack (Barb), Diane, Helen, Linda (Jim), William (Nancy), Ed (Debbie), David (Debra), Harold (Denise), Deborah (Kevin), Robert (Lynn), as well as one step-grandchild, Michael Trombly and several step-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Marlene was predeceased by her husbands, James Shappy, Jr. and John Cota.

Marlene attended Adirondack Community College as well as the University of Vermont. She enjoyed a full career working as a health care nutritionist. She lived a full and happy thirty-five years with her husband, James.

A graveside memorial service in memory of Marlene will be held in June at a date to be determined. The service will be held at the Union Cemetery in Hudson Falls, New York.
