Marjorie (Galligher) McBryde Bridges

Marjorie Galligher McBryde Bridges, age 93, of the Deep River Community in Sanford, NC died Monday, March 4, 2019 at Tara Plantation in Carthage.

She was born in Statesville, NC on November 27, 1925 to the late Guy Alexander Galligher and Dorothy Williams Galligher.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Amos Caswell Bridges Jr. and sister Betty Jean Rambout.

Marjorie was a faithful member of Flat Springs Baptist Church and a loving caregiver.  She worked as a seamstress for many years.

Marjorie is survived by sons James Michael McBryde “Mickey” and wife Madge of Sanford, Gerald Dwight Bridges “Jerry” and wife Bonita “Bonnie” of Shallotte, Amos Caswell Bridges III “Casey” of Charlotte, NC sister Vera Jones of Holly Springs, NC; 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the fellowship hall of Flat Springs Baptist Church.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Dr. Gary McCollough officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will also receive friends following the services in the fellowship hall.

The family wants to give a special thank you to the staff at Tara Plantation and FirstHealth Hospice for the loving care of their mother.  Flowers are welcome but memorials may be made to FirstHealth Hospice or Tara Plantation.
