Marie (Godfrey) Sheffield

Marie Godfrey Sheffield, age 74, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation Center with her family by her side.

She was born October 28, 1945 in Lee County, NC to the late Paul Godfrey and Viola Baker Godfrey.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Dan Sheffield; grandson Brandon Brown and sister Kay Godfrey Mitchell.  Marie loved reading her Bible and her brothers, sisters, grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She is survived by sons Tony Brown and wife Jill, Rodney Brown and wife Jeannine; grandchildren Casey, Colton, Savannah and Cooper Brown; siblings Joe Godfrey and wife Lois, Ronnie Godfrey and wife Phyllis, Willie Godfrey and wife Peggy, Jack Godfrey and wife Debra, Linda Patterson and husband Halford, Tim Godfrey, Terry Perdue, Regina Daniels, Darlene Turner and husband Ronnie, Diane Mikles, Deborah Walker and husband Ron and Paula Rinehart and husband Steve and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM with the funeral service following at 2:00 PM in the chapel with Rev. Rhonda Wilson.  Burial will follow at New Life Fellowship Church Cemetery.
