Johnny Eugene Pate

Johnny Eugene Pate, age 65, of Whiteville, NC, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Scotland County, NC on September 25, 1954 to the late William Rufus Pate and Beulah Mae Rouse Pate.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Billy Pate, William Pate and Jeanette Johnson.  Johnny was a plumber and served our country in the United States Marine Corp.

He is survived by his wife Debby Giles Pate; sons Gene Pate and wife Robin of Cameron, Kevin Pate of Cameron, Nick Thompson and wife Nicole of Thomasville, Jacob Harris of Raleigh; daughters Kelly Pate and husband Tim of Sanford, Ashley Stull of Charleston, SC; brother Buddy Pate of Sanford; sisters Sylvia Baker of Sanford, Dot McAllister and husband Larry of Laurinburg, Kathy Smith of Sanford, Peggy Strickland and husband Erwin of Laurinburg; 12 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  A graveside service will be held Sunday, January 12th at 3:00 PM at Pineywood Church Cemetery with Rev. Chip Hannah officiating.
