John Talley Obituary

John L. Talley, age 71, of Sanford, NC, died Sunday, September 1, 2019 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Lee County, NC on January 15, 1948 to the late Roy Leonard Talley and Flora Louise Helms Talley. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-son David Scott Thornton. John was a graduate of UNC and an avid Tarheel fan. He earned his undergraduate and pharmacy degrees from UNC and worked through high school and college in various pharmacies. He worked at Eckerds, Rite Aid, Walgreens and co-owned and operated Broadway Pharmacy.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Thornton Talley; son Joshua Talley and wife Anna of Cary; daughter Beth Todd and husband Ryan of Greensboro; step-daughter Kim Thornton Dakdouk and husband Rick of Cameron; sister Pat Parham of Greensboro; granddaughters Jessica and Carragan Talley; step-grandchildren Dalton Thornton, Joshua Williams, Cameron Himes, Morgan Thornton and great-grandson Braydon Thornton.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
