JoAnn (Farrell) Wessling

JoAnn Farrell Wessling, age 86, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, June 28, 2019 at Sanford Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Lee County, NC on February 7, 1933 to the late Joseph Augustus Farrell and Lura Ann Dawkins Farrell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Wolfgang Heinrich Wessling.  JoAnn traveled the world with her late husband including, Brazil, Germany, Mississippi, Texas and Raleigh.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sanford.

She is survived by her twin brother Jack Farrell and wife Turner of the Deep River Community; niece Jill Farrell Holt and  husband Michael of Deep River; Great-Nephews & Nieces: Jake Newton and wife Amanda of Deep River, Wendy Farrell Dunlap and husband Travis of Robbins, NC, Wes Farrell and wife Kylie of Livermore, Colorado; cousins Betty Sue McNeill and husband Ron of Sanford, Dr. Edwin Farrell of Minnesota and 7 great-great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Zion Christian Church cemetery with Pastor Ann W. Kelly and Rev. Sam Lavender officiating.  There will be no visitation.
