Jimmy Eugene Elixson

Jimmy Eugene Elixson, age 81, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at his home.

He was born in Lunenburg County Virginia on November 9, 1937 to the late James Thomas Elixson and Fronnie Ann Eubanks.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Junior Elixson and a brother, Kenneth Elixson.  Jimmy worked for many years for the City of Pittsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Gaynell; son, John Elixson of Sanford; daughters, Susan McNeill and husband, Ronald of Pittsboro and Kay Campbell and husband, Ricky of Pittsboro; step-sons, Billy Beal and wife, Laurie of Sanford, Earl Beal and wife, Terri of Siler City, Phillip Beal and wife, Martha Ann of Raeford; step-daughter, Kathy Lemons and husband, Danny of Sanford; brother, Henry Elixson and wife, Faye of Bear Creek; sisters, Mary Sparks and husband, Ralph of Sanford, Ann Harris and husband, Joe of Siler City and Carolyn Ellis of Siler City; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday, May 20, 2019, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the chapel.  Burial will follow in Bynum UMC Cemetery in Bynum.
