James "Jimmy" Vance Williams, Jr.

James “Jimmy” Vance Williams, Jr., age 71, of New Hill, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2019 at his home.

He was born on July 12, 1947 to the late James Vance Williams, Sr. and Katie Shepperd Garner.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Vance Williams, III; sisters, Hannah McLean, Barbara Hathcock and step-brother, Jerry Garner.  Jimmy worked for many years as a welder with Casey Industrial, Inc. and D&S Construction.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Phyllis Spivey Williams; daughters, Dana George and husband, Dave of Lake View, New York and Jessica Holder of Texas; sisters, Pat Freeman of Wadesboro, Sandra Fincher of Texas; brother, James Graham of Louisiana and step-sister, Carolyn Hilliard of Seven-Lakes; grandchildren, AJ Blalock, David George, Zachary George, Jamie George and Josephine George; step-son, Anthony Phillips of Sanford; step-daughter, Amy Phillips Atkinson and husband, Chris of Fort Drum, New York; step-grandchildren, Joshua York, Brittany Sykes and Lacy Atkinson.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Moncure United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Thomas officiating. Friends are welcome to visit the family home at any time.
