J Lacy Maddox

J. Lacy Maddox, age 88, of Sanford died at UNC Hospital on Dec. 28, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira Clint Maddox and Clara Dickens Maddox; a son, Darren Lynn Maddox; brothers, Prentice, Sam, Freddie, and Willie Maddox.

Mr. Maddox was involved in the trucking business and served his country as a veteran in the US Navy.

Surviving relatives include his wife Shirley Ann Womack Maddox of the home; sons, Jimmy Dale Maddox and daughter, Caroline Ayers, and Joel Brian Maddox both of Sanford; and a sister Selvia Doss of Sanford.

Graveside service will be held at Shallow Well Cemetery on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at 2PM with the Rev. Scott Yow officiating.  The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the service.
