Howard Samuel Galyean, age 87, of Sanford, NC, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Sanford Health and Rehabilitation.

He was born in Surry County on August 26, 1929 to the late Sam Galyean and Dina Hawks Galyean.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Galyean.  He served his country in the Army. Howard was retired from Roberts Company as an engineer. 

He is survived by his two sons, Mickey Wrenn Galyean and his wife, Wendy of Raleigh, Scottie Galyean and wife, Lisa of Cameron; one daughter, Debby Sams and husband, Mark of Florida; one sister, Shirley Clements of Newport, NC; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home with Roderick Hooker officiating.  Burial will follow in Buffalo Cemetery.
