Helen Cleo (Luxton) Williams

Helen Cleo Luxton Williams, age 88, of Sanford, NC, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019 at Westfield Health and Rehabilitation after a period of declining health.

She was born in Chatham County on January 27, 1931 to the late John Virgil Luxton and Fannie Smith Luxton.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul J. Williams; brothers and sisters, Coy Luxton, Maggie Luxton Ellis, Lillian Luxton Moore, Fred Luxton; Viola Luxton Kelly, Huey Luxton, Barbara Luxton Potter, Corinna Luxton Wicker, J.V. Luxton, Jr., Louis Luxton, Curtis Luxton, Jessie Luxton, twin brother, Hayden Luxton and Gracie Luxton McLeod.  Helen was a devoted member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.  She also enjoyed her involvement with Meals on Wheels.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Jan Williams of Durham, North Carolina and numerous special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.  The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Danny Redman officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
