Hazel Wilkins Simpson, age 97, of Sanford, NC, died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Westfield Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

She was born in Harnett County on November 3, 1919 to the late C.C. Jarman and Minnie Ennis Jarman.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Vassar Lewis Wilkins and Floyd Simpson; great-grandson, Adam R. Wallace and her nine siblings. 

Hazel is survived by her sons, James Larry Wilkins of Sanford and Ronald G. Wilkins of Sanford; a daughter, Shirley Jean Wilkins Wallace and husband, Weldon of Greensboro, NC; one step-son, Kenneth Simpson and wife, Peggy; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Spring Hill United Methodist Church in Lillington, NC with Dr. Jerome Smith officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
