Grace (Angel) McDuffie

Grace Angel McDuffie, age 62, of Sanford, NC, died Friday, June 21, 2019 at the FirstHealth Hospice house in Pinehurst, NC, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Lee County, NC on April 13, 1957 to the late Edward Eugene Angel and Mary Lucille Green Angel.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Ollie Monroe Angel; sister-in-law Mi Cha Yoon Angel and brother-in-law, Sonny Colvin.

Grace is a graduate of the Greenwood High School Class of 1975 and then continued her education at Appalachian State University, earning a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology.  While in graduate school, she was the women’s assistant field hockey coach.  She completed her education at Duke University in their Ultrasound School.  Grace was a member of Pocket Presbyterian Church. 

She is survived by her two sons, Madison Taylor McDuffie of Florence, KY; Stanton Parker McDuffie of Raleigh, NC; sister Linda Clifton and husband Jimmy; brothers, Richard Angel and wife Pat, and Edward Angel, all of Sanford; sisters-in-law Patti Coltrane, Kay Angel and Peggy Colvin; nieces and nephews, Billy Angel and wife Melanie; Rebecca Angel Gaines and husband Adam; Bonnie Clifton Howard and husband Brent; Henry Clifton and wife Jenni; Eddie Clifton and wife Amy; Yunchong Hur, Yun Hui Kim, Jennifer Simpson, Jeremy Gaddy and Rusty Colvin; great-nieces and nephews, Chanler Chuiman, Kendal Gaines, Reese Gaines, Hailey Howard, Josh Howard, Roe Angel and Noah Clifton; and Grand Dog, Beau McDuffie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Pocket Presbyterian Church with Rev. Thomas Simpson and Rev. Chad Neal officiating.  The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall immediately following the services.

In lieu of flowers, Grace requested memorials be made to Pocket Presbyterian Church, 669 Pocket Church Road, Sanford, NC 27330 and any food prepared is welcome to be brought to the church fellowship hall on the day of her memorial service.
