Gerald Lee Brown

Gerald Lee Brown, age 77, of Sanford, NC, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Central Carolina Hospital.

He was born in Harnett County, NC on August 26, 1940 to the late Eugene Franklin Brown and Hazel Lee Johnson Brown.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn Brown Rambeaut and brother Stanley Johnson Brown.  Gerald began his masonry career working with his father and then his brother Dwight.  He owned and operated Gerald Brown Masonry for over 20 years and was a member of Cross Roads Ministries in Broadway.

He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra Bullard Brown; daughter Candi Ellis and husband Elton of Sanford; brothers Elliott Brown and wife LaNell, Dwight Brown and wife Carol Ann, David Brown and wife Joy all of Lillington; sister Janet Johnson and husband Larry of Lillington; sister-in-law Gail Brown of Lillington; grandchildren Ori Izak Ellis, Taison Bullard Ellis, Riley Blair Cockman, Kaylee Grace Lemons; uncles and aunts Ronald Johnson and wife Dot, Tommy Hall, Lucille Brown all of Lillington, Joyce Johnson of Broadway; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

The family will receive friends at Cross Roads Ministries in Broadway, NC on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and at other times at the home of niece Phyllis Hancox, 1218 Cedarhurst Drive, Sanford, NC 27332. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 PM with Pastor Paul Backlund officiating. 

The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the family to assist them with future expenses, Crossroads Ministries or a Trust for grandsons Ori and Taison Ellis.
