Fred Allen Johnson

Fred Allen Johnson, age 77, of Lillington, NC, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 surrounded by his family.

He was born in Harnett County on November 24, 1940 to the late Kelly B. Johnson and Emily Edith Betts Johnson.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Marie Johnson.  He served our country in the US Army.  Fred retired from GKN as a machinist and also spent many years farming.  Family was important to Fred and he relished his role as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Brown Johnson; daughter, Kelly Johnson Matthews and husband, Jon of Lillington; two sons, Jeremy Allen Johnson and wife, Caryn of Fuquay-Varina and Reece Brown Johnson and wife, Stephanie of Wilmington; sisters, Lenda Taylor of Spring Lake and Patsy Bolton of Lillington; brother, Leon Johnson of Fuquay-Varina; grandchildren, Lindsey Matthews, Lily Matthews, Elizabeth Johnson, Ava Johnson, Alia Johnson, Emma Love Johnson, Luke Matthews, Jacob Johnson and Joshua Johnson.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Union United Methodist Church with Dr. Roderic L. Mullen officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
